Its not just the so called mentally unstable, unless you think that
you fit within that category. We see such attempts every day to
condition people - its all for the sake of marketing and profit.

Consider this, a lot of money is currently being spent on using fMRI
systems to see what systems within the brain are activated in response
to ads etc. Now imagine that technique being refined so that you get
hit with a very low level activator when you see a McDonald's
commercial and you're much more likely to buy a Big Mac.

What's the personal responsibility there?

The point is that we can talk about such vague aphorisms, but how much
is actual personal responsibility in the face of such technologies
(using beh mod as a technology here).
