I have been playing since in the game came out and I mostly solo...though
doing group stuff on one of the RP servers can be fun to. I like all of the
classes...they all have their advantages and disadvantages. I really don't
think any is better than the other. Once you get in the grove of playing,
you can always create additional characters, both on the horde and alliance
sides. My first character was a Taurean Druid...the second was a night elf
hunter. Since you bought the battle chest...which I believe is just the
first game and the Burning Crusade expansion, they have release the Wrath of
the Lich king, which opened up the Death Knight class. They are also
prepping for a new expansion, the Cataclysm, which will change the face of
WOW completely, as well as add 2 new races. So far the only classes I
haven't played is a warlock, priest, and a shaman. I would go with your
troll shaman...you can always try other classes as well...if you go on
sentinels, let me know...I know a great horde guild there (Vitality). I
also run a guild on the alliance side (Aesir Warriors)...but it isn't as
active as I would like.

Subject: WOW class choice

I've got the WOW battle chest sitting in my closet. Bought it by mistake
and opened it. Can't return it now.

I have some spare time and I'm considering playing again. I played for a
few days when WOW first came out and grew bored with it. I think I was a
night elf hunter. Years ago.

Considering a troll shaman. I remember that the shaman and the paladin were
the two most powerful classes back then, constantly getting nerfed. Not
sure what is what now.

Any input?

Prefer solo as much as possible. More interested in the story than PVP.
