If you want to Solo and move through quests and stories, then go with a Hunter. You can try a Dranei Hunter. Their story area is one of the newer ones. Night Elves are fine as well.
With the Hunter you should be able to solo most of your missions and quests, including those that require a 3 man group (with some difficulty). It's also great fun choosing your Pet and developing it as you level up through the game. Planning on what pet to get, then traveling to the area to tame it is fun. When you hit Level 50...make a Death Knight.
