So, after years of bad dates and relationships that didn't end well, I've found her. She is more than I could have hoped for, better than I would have asked for. It's time to pop the question. I want this to be special. I could go the classic route, take her the the restaurant we had our first date, get down on one knee, and propose in front of everyone. I harbor a little social anxiety and it would be tough, but I think I could man up and do it. The other option is MUCH geekier, though she loves my mad I.T. skills. She has an Iphone, loves it, and has asked me to develop an app for her, just for fun. She's a Steelers fan and wants a news aggregator. I could use that as a cover and slip on an app to propose to her. I would have to develop it myself for it to be meaningful. I know nothing about iphone apps, looks like they use objective c. I know there is some stuff that allows you to publish flash apps to the iphone. Took some Flash classes a few years back and Flash is very difficult, but I need to learn it, and this would be a good reason. The plan for the app is as follows: guess the letters game, similar to hangman(though hangman is a bit of a morbid choice, would prefer something different). First phrase is: I love you Second phrase is: Twins for the win! (running joke between us, I joked I wanted them and she was NOT amused, lol) Finally: Will you marry me? When she gets the last phrase, I fade it to a picture of the ring and play her favorite song, which is Snow Patrol's Say Yes(rather fitting) Then cut to that horrible song If You Like It Better Put a Ring On It (just for fun). So, to the ladies on the list, is this a bad/good idea? How would you feel if your man went this route? To everyone, any other ideas on how to propose? If you are married, how did it go down for you guys?
