the answer is yes, but the homeschooling paradigm that best does so doesn't care about teacher's guides. It's all good. He is looking for a certain type of material, and is entitled to do so. The reference to science to me says he wants non-ID cosmology, and history that doesn't claim the US is a Christian nation. So would I if I were looking for teaching materials, so....
