I've decided that the next job I take will be as a journalist. From
what I've seen, truth is subjective in the media and what matters is
the sound bite and 'sexy' title. Take this title for instance:
"Scientists to test ultrasound as a male contraceptive"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8674380.stm
Kind of bleh. The average person will look at the title, see what it's
about, and not bother to read the article at all or only past the
first few words. My titles on the other hand guarantee that the
article will be read:
"Bill Gates paying to ultrasound your balls"
Maybe a little risque but it sure got your attention, no? Another,
more tame alternative is:
"Bill Gates sponsors male contraception"
Actually, I can either go into journalism or politics. A speech writer
makes huge bucks just for sound bites like those. :)
