Ozzy is an individual musical genius rather than a band. I consider a band 3 or more
people who support each other in their music onstage and are all recognized. Ozzy was
part of Black Sabbath which was a band. His time with Randy Rhodes was close to being
a band (and was fantastic) but didn't really make it by definition. Zappa's bands were
all Zappa's bands and have to fall under his name. Same with Prince (more than anyone
else). His bands were just backup and support for him (when he was good). Clinton is
different as he had a LOT of cool band members who were recognized for their work. He
was the front man but also the ringleader and I'm glad P-Funk was on the list (It had
to be).
Personally, I go for the individuals over the bands. Ozzy, Prince (before he was
married), Clinton, Zappa. These are the masters.
