This just happened to a friend's computer.

I was able to boot into safe mode, remove the start up with mscofig, and
reboot in regular mode and then clean the machine.

I then put my friend on a non-admin account.  She has access to an admin
account I created so she can install stuff as needed, but day to day use
should be a little safer.


If that doesn't work, try a bootable virus scan iso.
