Larry, the world is past the point of Israel using Hamas and the terrorist threat as an excuse for massacres. If you want to talk about basic rights, self defense doesn't work that way.
Israel can not have the right to do whatever it wants in the name of its security. International Laws and treaties are created for this very reason, so that no one country can decide in its own self interest to blow up its neighbour. China feels the same about Taiwan, but the world won't allow it to invade Taiwan. as far as China is concerned Taiwan poses a physical, economic and idealogical threat. South Korea threatens North Korea and vice versa. The world doesn't allow either one to blow the other up. So your excuse of Self Defence simply does not apply. And no.."ANY" country would not nuke its neighbour in a similar situation. Your own ideology of 'self defence' would lead to never ending World Wars.
