Just a short point. My family was kicked out of the US for being loyal
to the legitimate government at the time. The extremists forced
loyalists into concentration camps and practiced what we would call
ethnic cleansing for any community that did not support the
revolution. Even the so called noble George Washington suggested that
it not be a crime if a loyalist was killed in his house or that his
land was seized etc. He went so far to advocate tarring and feathering
any loyalist left.

Not too far from what various extremists want to do these days to the
opposition.
