I don't see why it can't be scaled back, at a less "resort like"
place. Where emphasis is on the conference, not how gorgeous or plush
the hotel and surroundings can be. (although sure it's a plus)

I mean the importance here is the content and networking.

I'm pretty sure the majority of developers would be just as happy at a
big old VFW hall with lots of rooms and wifi access. Just don't spare
the refreshments. And have a bar nearby.

Heck, there's probably plenty of Courtyard by Marriott's around
airports, clamoring for this type of business. You might just have to
limit the numbers. <shrugs>

Definitely sad. I can only hope that it might be a last minute
attendance thing for me.

Maybe someone else can pick up the ball and run with it....
