"The answer is, yes, I do want to bless my daughter with a country that has programs to take care of the least fortunate, that helps ensure a social safety net for retirement, that provides health care for the rich and poor."
Interesting. I personally want my children to help take care of the less fortunate through their own means, not by government proxy and mandate. I love it when my children perform unsolicited acts of kindness. Talk about making a heart swell. If I need assistance in my retirement, I want my children and family to help me. I don't want to rely on a government and don't think I will be able to. If I need health care, I don't want to wade through a bureaucratic maze of red tape. I don't want to wait six months for surgery. I want to be able to choose a physician and go. If I need financial assistance, then I want my family to contribute. Just a different way to view things I suppose. J - The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. - Thomas Jefferson ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:323761 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
