I'd rather have a system in place (at the state level) that can take
care of those who fall through the cracks. I'd love to think that my
daughter will be able to take care of me in my old age or help me with
my retirement (like that will happen). But the reality is that the
economy is a crap shoot from administration to administration any more
and we can't predict what our children's means will be.

There needs to be something available to those who cannot rely on any
other means.
