The Tea party is as irrelevant as the Republican party, it's GOP2.0 with a somewhat heavier lean to the right and much angrier, they don't have nearly the stroke that you think that they do. If they don't want to be called racist, then they need to police their own it certainly wasn't independents or the left that was hurling racial epithets at African American senators recently.
