I don't have all the answers certainly. There seems to be a sense of scale and proportion involved but where do you draw the lines? We both agree that the KKK is a racist organization, we both agree that all Muslims are not terrorists. But what about saying that the Taliban is a fundamentalist organization? I got jumped on in this list when I suggested that there might be some moderate elements of the Taliban that could be potential negotiating partners. After seeing the Afghan government try to do some negotiations I'm more of the opinion now that there may not be any moderate elements that can reasonably be negotiated with. It's a judgement call though, no doubt. Can you say that all Talib are fundamentalists? Probably not. Maybe though, I'm not sure. Can we say that the organization is fundamentalist? I think that is a fair characterization. But yeah, that's a judgement call, same with characterizing any other group.
