I have a friend...a pretty good friend...who for many years was a civil war reenactor. He told stories of actual battles breaking out in the midst of mock battles, because many of the reenactors went above and beyond just history buffs. Quite a few of the "rebels" were indeed very sympathetic to the South...and many of the Union reenactors were not very fond of the South, and didn't make much of a distinction between the southern soldiers of 1861, and the people who were supposedly "reenacting" their movements in modern times. Many of the mock battles took on the feel of very real battles, with "soldiers" being injured and even bloodied by very real fighting. Oh and as for my friend....well, he's rather....eccentric himself. To this day, he is quite convinced that he is a reincarnated Union soldier. Honest injun. I'm tellin' ya, it's a crazy world out there. -- Glittering prizes and endless compromises Shatter the illusion of integrity ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:329028 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
