Music changes your brain chemistry. Which probably means that thinking changes your brain chemistry. Whoh.
I love to use music to, well, feel stuff. You got a good list there. Here's some off the top of my head-ish: Badfish <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmadSGJCzo8> - Sublime Diamonds on the soles of her shoes<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf4YyXVoWeA>, Kodachrome <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SExsuRIGAlg> - Paul Simon Perhaps perhaps perhaps <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKPjxVHgFPs> - Doris Day Sinnerman <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn5tiuZU4JI> - Nina Simone Transatlantic <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQOYRaaSIvs> - Quantic Night Life <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Doy3-A4Vric> - Bonobo Anything with Banjos <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icMTVV5Lwaw> I like lots of songs from the various artists listed at the beginning of this Flying Lotus <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oUx6wGCekM> video. Cemetery Gates <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdzbGiWAmyU> - Pantera Well, lots of Pantera. Lots of old Metallica, etc.<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y67HAxbhw48> Various kinds of house techno. Hip-hop from around the Liquid Swords<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Bsl44gJAPY>-ish, Lump Lump <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y67HAxbhw48>-ish time always evoke emotion... poetical lyricalness, e.g. Pharcyde<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjWG1h5j4eE&feature=related>, Non-prophets<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7XnMiLIqtc&feature=list_related&a=GxdCwVVULXeLOFb9lwq4hQ2LbCDDwFRH&list=ML&playnext=1> ... Ironically, I can't really think of a lot of my favorites off hand. These are all ones that I know make me feel stuff whenever I hear 'em, but a lot is tied to (even more ironically) memory. Separating the two... hard. And this is a random-ish list. Memories... Redman, Eric Sermon, Sepultura... oldies up the wazoo (meaning 60's like Floyd, etc., maybe some 50's like Kingston Trio). Damn. I've felt all kinds of different ways over the years. In general, I guess I hear the stuff, and kinda feel how I felt (even though a lot of it I've listened to consistently for years -- hrm, how could that work? *shrug*), or want to dance. Guess that sums it up... If you have lots of favorites, so many they don't all fit at once, maybe you don't have many, really? Wow. I'm getting deep. It ain't true, but it's deep. Time for bed. =) No question. Music is the bomb. More powerful than paintings or sculptures and whatnot, for me. But what were we talking about again? I kinda wandered off there... =) Hey, do your songs always evict the same emotions in you? Or has some changed? Oh yeah. Evoking emotion, neh? Woohoo! Total recall! :Den -- Desire and force between them are responsible for all our actions; desire causes our voluntary acts, force our involuntary.
