During WWII, a Japanese government official asked a Rabbi why the Nazi's hated the Jews so much. The Rabbi answered "because we're Asian". (Israel is on the Asian continent)
In the last few generations, Judith's family was in Poland and Romania. Her mother is the daughter of a Levi and I've seen pictures in her mother's house of Rabbis from generations back. My family also hails from the Poland area and my mother is the daughter of a Cohen. Bottom line is that I'm Jewish in faith and in decent. I belong to a cultural and genealogical group of people who have had a continuous presence in Israel for thousands of years and Israel has been central in our prayers and beliefs for all of that time. My being an American or having light skin does not break that connection in any way. But in the end, aren't we all African. :) On Fri, Nov 19, 2010 at 1:28 AM, Eric Roberts < [email protected]> wrote: > > Where is Judith's family from? And where were your parents from?
