One of the joys (for me) in being on vacation was to catch up on The Economist, the FT, and the WSJ. Like really read and consider the stuff in there every day without any outside distractions of work or whatever.
Well one over-riding thing occurred to me as I read all the various Middle East things: no matter what we may say about all the policy things Pres Obama does well or not well, his greatest strength for our national security may be his name, his skin color, and the fact that all the Bushies openly oppose him, some despise him, and all say so in voluminous emotional ways.
