Okies..sooo...dunno who the Angel is since my name on the lists is VIVEC
*ahem* :) ...

but ..uhh...

The issue of the widening gap between rich and poor is a worldwide one. It
is just most noticeable and the gap is largest in the US.
But it has become a growing trend worldwide. It is responsible for the
instability and the revolutions of the Middle East in no small part.

The issue of who will change things is relevant. Because we are unlikely to
get the style of demonstrations in the Western world, that we had in the
Middle East.
Sure a few march in England when they raise the cost of education, Greece
had its marches as did France...but that never really threatened the
government in the
same way that they were threatened in say Egypt.

So I think the question is valid.

To look at say the Caribbean, the policies of Wall Street extend to the
region and directly affect it.In my view, there's no real insulation.
When the US defaults on trade agreements and treaties with the WTO because
of the influence of the Gambling Lobby on political decisions, it is
directly felt in Antigua and smaller islands in a sudden and drastic loss of
jobs and a gutting of the GDP. In Trinidad Government faces a 14 billion
dollar debt due to the financial failure in 2008 caused by Wall Street in
the US (don't think there is any debate anymore on what and which companies
caused it).

So if we believe that having this massive gap and Boom and Bust is bad for
economies and countries, what is going to change it?
I can't think of anything right now.
