"They better think twice before they try to kill my Alma mater. Especially
considering the district uses CFML :-)"

No worry. Most voucher advocates do not want to kill public schools. They
just want an alternative. Minorities stuck in terrible districts are a big
supporter of the voucher movement.

One of the main arguments for vouchers is that it would make public schools
better. In order to keep students, they would have to perform better
(really perform better, not have change-the-test parties like Atlanta).

I certainly support this view. There will always be a need for public
schools that work instead of warehouse.

I've recommended it before and I'll recommend it again. If you haven't seen
Waiting for Superman, check it out. If you are sensitive, it might bring a
tear to your eyes. One of the students followed goes to one of the best
public high schools in the country and enters the lottery for a charter
school in a poor district.
