He's probably just frustrated. I posted that chart elsewhere and feel about the same way. People just refuse to believe it. Apparently we were mean to George Bush, and now we are mean to Cantor. Yeah, I am whining, I know, but when facts become irrelevant then what's the point of public discourse anyway?
In fairness though, I will say though that the Post article *does* frame the numbers in terms of Bush vs Obama. No matter how accurate, this is essentially the same "your guy was bad too" argument we just saw from Jerry on Cantor, and misses a more important point made elsewhere: If you do, truly, want to come to terms with the deficit, you probably need to do something about the single biggest factor contributing to it: the Bush tax cuts. Look at the numbers on that graph. They came from the Congressional Budget Office. To me, that says they are probably correct, or at least that someone tried to make them accurate. I will be quiet now.
