My conclusions are:

- The numbers suggest that in all but only a few cases, the football program
at most universities costs money, and doesn't have any other real net
benefits to the school or the community beyond giving young kids a chance to
play football

- Just giving young kids the opportunity to play football is worth the cost
to the university

What academics who decry sports are incapable of realizing (and i'm not
putting you in this camp larry), is that while academics are absolutely
vital to helping lead a quality life....sports and other such pleasure
activities are what make that life worth living in the first place.
