That being said, there is an attempt to stop Sharia based on fears of what has and is happened in other countries (such as England). That fear has no foundation in America and is jumping the gun by a huge amount. If/When it becomes an issue, it'll be dealt with the same way we've dealt with any legal issue - through the courts. If someone rapes another and says their religion allows it, then the courts will say otherwise. If someone abuses their spouse with the same excuse, the same response holds.
