I read an interesting article basically saying that Phelps and his crew aren't zealots, but simple con men.. They have found a formula that almost guarantees to get people riled up, and then sue anyone who is provoked into action.
If you watch video of any of the Westboro protests, you'll hear them almost daring people to lash out. It's a scam..
