Amen.

The Penn State students would have been better served to have assembled
quietly and held a vigil to express their regret and solidarity with the
victims.

these are college kids though, who lead a fairly insular life....their
entire daily life is engulfed by Penn State, and football is a HUGE part of
that. I tend to forgive them for not really seeing the bigger picture here.
I know when I was 18, I could easily have missed it.
