The difference is that Roosevelt and Lincoln did so during a time of declared wars...not illegal invasions of other countries to justify laws that destroy the bill of rights...these wouldn't be temporary suspensions either...there would be permanent unless the SCOTUS (which seeing as Herr Roberts in in charge and he seems to be a fan of fascist principles instead of democratic ones) repeals it, which I highly doubt would happen.
