That is the problem. You don't care about the facts. Someone told you
we act now or die and they tell there friends they made it up to scare
fools. Now you realize you're the fool he was referring to so you
change the scope of the discussion to what should we do if it were
real.

Frankly I find it boring. Admit you've been duped, or not, and move
on. Don't try to re-frame the issue to save face. It doesn't work and
just prolongs your pain.
