I agree.  The fact of the matter is that the purpose of collleges and
universities is to educate people, not provide entertainment via sports.
Maybe the NBA and NFL should fund sports programs if they want them instead
of the public footing the bill.

It doesn't mean I like sports, I just do not like the scam that has been
played on higher education. Why should universities foot the bill to train
up NFL and NBA players. Let them do what hockey and baseball do, establish
farm teams and leagues and train up the players that way.

Why should my education dollars go for luxury apartments for football
players, especially when in many colleges and universities the regular dorm
facilities are marginal to say the best.
