The ones I had to deal with were not interested in an education. Their
classes were time wasters as far as they were concerned. So when I
failed one or two, I was called first into the dept chair's office
about the failure, then the dean's. Both players would have lost their
eligibility if the grade was maintained. but the dean arbitrarily made
their final grades a B - based on a "special project".

the players were not there to learn, and of course they did not. I
have no problem with those using the opportunity, but if you're not at
university to learn then why are you there in the first place. In this
case it was to play in the football farm system known as US college
football.

As I said its one of the best scams that the private sector has pulled
over American colleges and universities.
