When you have a drone overhead sending LIVE video, and you have CIA operatives asking if they can go over and help, and after several hours of watching these LIVE feeds and fielding requests for help, you don't need "boots on the ground".
Oh wait, actually there were boots on the ground by way of CIA operatives, and ex SPEC-OPS personnel there who violated orders and came to the aide of the embassy and were shooting at the bad guys. Regardless of whether it was a "spontaneous act" or a deliberate and well planned attack - which it actually was - every available asset should have been immediately deployed to assist because this was an attack on sovereign US territory. AC-130 gunships, SPEC-OPS operators and many others were within two hours of helping, CIA operatives were in an annex and requested more than once to assist, yet NOTHING was done but sitting back watching people die. Now of course Obama is saying that he was not made aware of any requests made for help when asked if he knew of the CIA requests. His answer is that his administration is "investigating" the incident. Seriously? investigating? Investigating what? It's been six weeks now since this happened. How much time do you need to investigate a hostile act that high levels of the administration were privy to see LIVE? It seems that either Obama is trying his best to cover up what happened, or his administration is not doing their job. Either way, I think that everyone can agree that there was a serious disconnect going on in the White House with the CINC and his people if in fact he was not made aware of requests to help by assets who were minutes away by way of CIA operatives. And it is a blatant act of incompetence by the CINC for not deploying every available asset as soon as he knew that there was an attack on the embassy.
