Who saw it live? Who told the CIA operatives that they could not go over and help, and why? A "former" CIA agent is making allegations. Why is he "former"? Maybe he screwed up.
Do you know the answers to those questions? If not, I would say an investigation is in order and this entire incident needs to be off the table as political fodder. As late as the 18th the White House press secretary was quoting CIA reports that this was part of a protest. So perhaps the CIA needs to get the stories straight and stop covering their nether regions.
