For the second time in 4 years, i entered the voting booth, and just stared
at the list of Presidential candidates. I literally did not know who I was
going to vote for until I actually did it. I've been accused of being wishy
washy, or spineless, or unwilling to take a stand, or non committal, or
just floating in the breeze and latching on to whomever wins.....all the
usual criticisms of an independent.

But the fact of the matter is that there are things I like and dislike
about both candidates. And more importantly, i'm simply not smart enough to
know for sure which one has a better plan. So I have to do the best with
whatever knowledge I have, and that is not always easy to do.

It would be much easier to just register as a Dem or Rep, and have my
principles decided for me. But I'd hate myself if i did that. My wife asked
me this morning who i was voting for, and I told her i didn't know. She
thought i was being coy and got pissed at me. But i was telling the truth.

So...in the end I think I've made the right choice...but I won't know for
years. And if the other guy wins, i'll bring up all the things I thought
were positive about him, and hope that they turn out to be true, and that I
was wrong about the things I thought were his negatives. This is how I am
able to "get behind" a President that I did not vote for. Because it's good
for me, and it's good for my country, if I am the one who was wrong, and he
is the one who was right.
