As conservative as I am I agree with you.  I am not rabid anti-abortion.
I don't like it, I think it is wrong, and I would like to see it gone
from the face of the Earth.  However the common sense in me says that is
not going to happen.  I think the issue here is education.  Make it so
that abortions are rare, through education and adoption. 


I support equal rights for everyone.  However, I don't support special
treatment for anyone.

Well, to me all conservatives have a sense of social responsibility (as
in
Adam Smith "Wealth of Nations" fame) and individual freedoms (as in the
Constitution).  It's the left, to me, that seems out of whack, with its
political correctness and the restrictions it wants to place on
businesses
(which is a position that is anti-freedom).

It's actually lifestyle issues where I must diverge with social
conservatives -- I am not rabid anti-abortion and I support equal
protection/rights for gays.
