I buy nothing but Nikon glass. I haven't tried the V1 (assume you are referring to Nikon) or J1 yet.

I did the same shots with my D80 with a Sigma 18-200mm, his Lumix GH2 with a 14-140mm on it and my V1 with a 10-30mm on it. All three cameras did the shot wide open and at both ends of the lens. I knew my Sigma was a cheap lens, but it really performs like crap ;) These were shot without a flash too under CFL lights.
