"Doesn't carbon dating prove the planet is more than 6000 years old?"

Yes.

However, that's a loaded question and it shows why creationist have an
unfair advantage.

A creationist could simply say that God made the rocks so that they appear
over 6000 years old. This could eventually devolve into some
deep philosophical topics. I listened to, but did not participate in, a
discussion one time between several "intellectuals" on both sides of the
theological debate. One of the intellectuals was addressing the issues of
the tribes in the Amazon basin who will never have access to a Bible or
someone to teach them the Gospel. He wanted to know if they were condemned
to Hell. Another intellectual answer something along these lines: How do
you know they are not automatons? Hard to compete with that.
