I wasn't as much into looking at world and US politics 8 years ago, but I
don't recall seeing the racist, misogynistic rants and laws from the
Democrats side.

When have democrats tried to repeal roe vs wade? When have they tried to
block student loan legislation? When have they blocked capital funding and
forced a sequester? When have they totally refused to even vote on key
government appointments forcing many necessary programs and committees to
grind to a halt simply because the boards and groups that are responsible
for making decisions aren't appointed?

Now when you look at the clear clusterf*** of Iraq, and all the other
issues that Bush had during his presidency regarding the gung ho attitude
and the warmongering, I hope you aren't conflating genuine outrage and
evidence based accusations with extremist rants.

The real issue is that if this were a self contained middle eastern country
there wouldn't be much of an issue. But when this is the US, and these nut
jobs might control the Senate, the house, and the government it is an
issue, in my view. The decisions the US takes affects everyone. What
happens in Zimbabwe , or internal politics of Uganda or even Egypt, not so
much (as long as oil isn't threatened).
