I am not being anal, I am being realistic. Nothing in that article would lead any reasonable person to think that Papa John's, as a company, is/was 'crashing and burning'.
Hell, I am not even sure I buy that their 'brand perception' changed as much as the article claimed. I had not even heard about the 'uproar' over his comments until I read that article.
