The only change in the definition of pedophilia is as follows: "Pedophilic disorder criteria will remain unchanged from DSM-IV, but the disorder name will be revised from pedophilia to pedophilic disorder." " That is very incorrect. I'm not going to go into the thing, except to say that the APA reacted very badly at the time in withdrawing its support for the article, something it later acknowledged. The they reference was a meta-analysis of the impact of sexual abuse on later mental well being. The meta-analysis found that kids tend to be very resilient.
