It's not significantly different from the "old" iPhone 5; essentially
the same internals.  They changed the outer shell but my understanding
is that it's basically a 5.

Faster, 64-bit, separate processor for motion sensors to aide with
battery life, fingerprint reader for security... lots to like, but
it's an iterative update which is why it's still labeled with the "5"
branding.  Nobody was expecting anything major this time around.  The
major changes this year will be in the software, iOS 7, rather than
the hardware.

It's supposed to just be local to the device.  They aren't pushing
your prints up into the cloud to a central database from what I've
read about it.

Indeed, I'm with Apple for the phone, but I'm still on the 4 from when
it came out on Verizon a couple of years ago.  I won't be upgrading
myself for another year at least (probably with the iPhone 6 if they
keep with their release cycle) unless the 4 breaks or something.
