Since I am still on a 4s, I will probably upgrade next year when I am eligible. And I'll probably get a 5s as well.
I like the finger print thing. Assuming that what Apple says is true, that the finger print information is kept in a specific place in the A7 processor, I am OK with that. Besides, since I am a federal employee, the NSA, FBI and whomever else has all my information anyway, including DNA, so I don't really care about that. I also don't like entering a passcode. If I want to make a call when I am on the road, I like that I can just push a button and swipe, then tell Siri what I want to do, all while keeping my eyes on the road. using Using the fingerprint will make it even easier for me, and should make the phone more secure. I like the fact that they are using OpenGL 3.x, the latest graphics standard. I am not a phone gamer, but I still like faster graphics for other things. I also like the M7 processor as well. From what I understand, someone like me who uses the Nike Run + application, a pedometer to track my ruck march progress, and an app that tracks my bicycle rides, that's going to be nice since the GPS and other related data is processed with that processor and not the main one. Should help with battery life. I also like the fact that it is faster than the one I have now. The colors are really nice and I like the added battery life. That's probably my only real complaint about the 4s right now, is the battery life. I have seen a lot of android phones lately and I am really not that impressed with them. My wife has a MOtorola Photon and I am not impressed with it. Seems sluggish, just as my HTC Evo did, and my daughter's Samsung Galaxy 3 did as well. My neighbor had the Galaxy 4 for a hot minute and she hated it, and got the iPhone 5 and she is really happy with it. She said it was too heavy, too slow and just didn't perform the way she expected it with all the hype on TV. But for now I am looking forward to iOS 7 and OSX Mavericks. From what I am reading they are supposed to play really well together. We'll see.
