I fully expected it to be this way... They probably only got servers based
on XXX connections and didn't have the budget to start large and then scale
down. I am sure there were many talks by the infrastructure team of "When
oct 1 hits it is going to slashdot us in to oblivion" and the manager
saying "well we will just see what happens but this is all we can buy".

Typical corporate IT BS.
