In the 90's the Swedes though that the 5.52 NATO round was too inhumane, with its shattering on bone impact. So they redesigned the round to be more humane. Only thing was in tests it turned out to be much more nastier, tumbling on impact and causing about 3 or 4 times the damage as the standard NATO round.
