The Grady High School shooting is from my school district in Atlanta. Grady
is one of the best school in the Atlanta Public School system, which
unfortunately is not very difficult to achieve.

However, this is definitely not a "school shooter" like Sandy Hook,
Columbine, or many of the "mentally unstable white kid" shootings. Grady
happens to serve the largest concentration of Section 8 housing in the
southeast, which is about 5 blocks from my loft.

That entire Section 8 housing area drives a huge percentage of the crime in
my part of town. That is where one goes to score drugs, prostitutes, or a
wide variety of other "bad things". It is the stereotypical "lookouts on
the corners" fortress of bad shit. I hear gunshots from that area at least
twice a month.

That is where this kid came from.

So - was it really a shooting? Yes. Is putting it in a bucket with "school
shootings" a little misleading? Yes.

Of course this kid is innocent till proven guilty and I may be unfairly
labeling this kid, but unfortunately this likely goes in the "criminal with
a gun" bucket and not the "we can't tell if they are a mentally stable or
not" bucket.
