Windows 7 Ultimate runs everything you would need and is not that much more expensive. The home version is marginal when it comes to loading stuff like CF. I would defininately go with 64bit, and as much Ram and hard drive space as you can afford. I'm not comfortable enough with SSD drives to recommend them. Mean time to failure seems a bit too high for me to trust them.
As for laptops, in spite of the fact that the pricing on them will be good, don't buy HP. I have three, all of which have failed with the same power supply issue which HP refuses to acknowledge or fix. I like my Dell a lot, but the best laptop I've ever had is a Sony Vaio. I bought one in 1998. It still works. On Thu, Jun 26, 2014 at 3:34 PM, Michael Dinowitz <[email protected]> wrote: > > Any and all feedback, suggestions, tips, whatever is appreciated.
