Yeh. Hunting for 3 kidnapped teenagers (one an American citizen) is no reason to be going into a city, searching traffic to/from it, and arresting members of the group who was responsible for the kidnapping. Too bad they were found dead before our president was able to say that kidnapping is wrong. Maybe he'll say how sorry he is that they are dead...but I doubt it. Don't want to upset Hamas or Iran.
Democracy? There are Hamas supporters, Arab Hamas supporters, in the Israeli Knesset. They were voted in and have been there for years. Oh, but they are Israeli citizens. Only the non-Israeli Arabs are treated as second class...except the ones who are in the same hospitals and get the same treatment as Israeli citizens (Like Abbas's wife did). And as for settlements, do some research into how many houses have actually been built in settlements in the last X years. Not announced, built. It takes like a dozen announcements before any building is done. Settlement activity has been scaled back tremendously in the last few dozen years. But the point is moot. Nice guys in the Middle East don't finish last, they don't finish at all. When you say that Israel is acting like X or doing Y, try to put in another country like Egypt, Syria, etc. and see if you have the same feelings about them that you do against Israel. Israel may act like assholes sometimes but maybe those sometimes are needed. And do we act any better or worse?
