I have several PCs that have ATX MBs that I need to be able to turn off/on remotely.
I have an APC Master Switch for
this purpose. However, when I remove the power from these systems and reapply, the
systems do not reboot. I did some
reading up on the systems and found that the 5 volt power is always applied and the 12
volt power is not applied when
the system is in an off state. The motherboard grounds one of the PS leads when it
wants to turn on. So, I hard-wired
the ground to that lead and now the sysytem power comes on when I plug it in.
However, the system still will not reboot
unless the MB gets a momentary closure on the leads that go to the power switch. The
system uses Award BIOS, BTW.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Howie
