The only thing we need to keep in mind with this is hereditary problems
and glandular problems.

When my thyroid was at it's worst ... I jogged 2-3 miles, rode the bike
for another 10-20 miles, simple weight training, other nautilus
equipment ... For over a year and a half .... 6 days a week. I lost
about 25 pounds, when I needed to lose 80. I lost the 25 in the first
month. After that I never lost another ounce. AND I watched what I ate,
AND I went to the doctor. My metabolism NEVER kicked in.

I slowed everything down, kept my activity up, played raquetball instead
of jogging ... But still no changes.

Went on the thyroid medication last fall, and we're now finally getting
somewhere (had another blood test today) ... I need to up my activity a
bit as I've been working to much lately and not getting to the gym
(which I have a membership to courtesy of Phil's company) ... But
there's light at the end of the tunnel, for me.

I do not sit around eating bon-bons and fast food. I try to keep all our
meals as healthy as possible, getting lots of fruits and veggies in,
much to Philip's dismay <grin> grilling things instead of pan cooking,
etc.

I need to cut out more bread and pasta, as I've had a bit too many
servings a week than I usually do, but that's easy. What's hard is
cutting out chinese food when neither of us feels like cooking and we
order take-away ... The doctor said too much sodium, so I said ok.
<sigh>

What we all need is a personal chef. <grin>
