Simon, you hit on something here. Would a black person be welcome at a white supremacist rally? I think not. Would I be welcome at the St Patty's Day Festival? You bet i would. I was surprised the first year I was working here when the gals wanted to take me to the Alaska Native Heritage Day Celebration and parade. I didn't realize it was inclusive - but of course it was.
