I can't be. I can make reasonable assumptions. If we use communication
as a measure of sentience, then we can say that no cow has chosen to
communicate with us. Of course, pro-choice people make the 'reasonable
assumption' that the child isn't truly alive yet. All of our arguments
will be over what each of us feels is a reasonable assumption. :)
